Sun (Sol)

Throughout history and across cultures, the Sun has been regarded as the core of creation: the source of warmth, life, and light. While many traditions view the Sun as masculine, paired with the feminine Moon, others recognize its nurturing aspect as a maternal power. In Greek mythology, the twin gods Apollo and Artemis represented this balance: Sun and Moon, action and reflection, strength and grace. The Romans called the Sun Sol Invictus, the Unconquered One, whose daily journey across the sky symbolized victory and renewal. In Taoist philosophy, Sol and Luna reflect the yang and yin, whose ongoing interplay sustains the rhythm of all life. One of our earliest designs was inspired by Native American views of the Sun as a life-giver—a sacred light that connects the heavens and the earth. It stands for clarity, vitality, and the responsibility that comes with illumination. Wearing the Sun serves as a reminder that wisdom, like sunlight, shines brightest when shared.
