The piece
About this piece
In Celtic mythology, the dragonfly is often the transitional home of the soul between one life and the next. Its flight and aerial acrobatics capture our attention and inspire our hearts.
Dragonflies inhabit water, but with maturity, learn to fly while staying close to the water. Those with dragonfly affinities may have had emotionally and passionately intense early years, but as they mature, they achieve balance with mental clarity and control.
The dragonfly is associated with color magic, mysticism, and illusion. To some Native American tribes, water is connected with springtime, fertility, and renewal. The dragonfly was the symbol of a great Japanese warrior clan and later became one of the emblems of the Japanese emperor.
